The exhibition "A Glimpse of Lacquer" will bring Vietnamese painting art to Seoul in July.
42 lacquer paintings were selected for display at Ganaisa Art Center, Seoul from July 15 to 20. This is the work of 14 artists of the "Son Ta" group - a group of artists who pursue traditional paint materials.
The work "House and Tree" by Pham Thang Long will be introduced in Korea.
Among the paintings brought to the exhibition, 12 works with traditional visual styles by painters Ha Anh Tuan, Nguyen Duc Viet, Nguyen Nghia Dau, Nguyen Tan Cuong, Nguyen Hiep Anh, and Duc Hung. 30 works with modern visual style by painters Nguyen Truong Linh, Tran Phi Truong, Nguyen Hai Nam, Do Khai, Pham Thang Long, Hoang Huu Van, Ngo Hai Yen, Dang Hien. Mr. Tran Quoc Hung - exhibition curator - said that this selection is to show that traditional materials still have vitality and creativity in modern shaping methods.
With the desire to show the beauty of Vietnamese lacquer art, in addition to the exhibition competition, the organizer also made a video introducing the process of creating traditional materials.
